Choice

In the past they belonged to men's world. Wearing them by women was not acceptable until as recently as the 1920s. Before that, in the late nineteenth century, some wore them on stage or while cycling. Coco Chanel was the first one who was wearing them on the beach. Many women followed her, but only very few dared to wear them on the street. During the Second World War it became acceptable and quite common for women to put them on to work. However, only in 60s women really embraced their comfort and practicality. In France women were formally not allowed to wear them until... last year. Yes, I'm talking about trousers. I guess nowadays every woman wears them at least from time to time. I think I like them as much as dresses and skirt. What's the most important though, is that it's only my choice if I fancy putting them on or not.

Kiedyś należały do świata mężczyzn.

Purple rain

I hoped to finally show you Maggie in dresses and sandals but the weather changed my plans. I guess for the first time I paired purple and burgundy-two colours that I am really fond of. These pictures were taken yesterday afternoon when we went for lunch with friends and to the cinema to see "Great Gatsby". As a fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald's book I was really looking forward to see this film. Without any doubts its visual side is very impresive. It is also difficult not to compare the 'roaring twenties' with the present-especially with the years before the crisis. Have you already seen this film?

Trudno też uniknąć porównań miedzy szalonymi latami 20 i współczesnością - zwłaszcza tą sprzed kryzysu gospodarczego. Wybieracie się na ten film? A może już go widzieliście?
