Not the same

What word has recently become extremely popular? Inspiration. We
want to be constantly inspired by something and we are sharing our inspirations with everybody through social media. Creative process requires inspiration. There is no doubt about that. However, where is the difference between an inspiration and a copy? Apparel retailers very often copy fashion designers' work and make it more accessible. Therefore what we buy in fact are copies or sometimes copies of the copies. In the film "The Devil Wears Prada" Miranda Priestley was explaining her new assistant: "(...) you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you (...)".

Inspiracja.
Kupujemy wiec kopie, a czasem wręcz kopie kopii.

One of the fashion retailers that have an original style and do not follow the others is Desigual. "Desigual is not the same"-was the first slogan of this company based in Barcelona but with origins in Ibiza in the beginning of 80s. What differentiates Desigual are vibrant colours, patchwork patterns and using graffiti art. Do you know this brand? What do you think about it?

Niebanalne wzornictwo Desigual charakteryzują szalone, radosne i odważne kolory, patchworkowe wzory i zastosowanie graffiti.

Labyrinth of thoughts

My first thought when I look at this dress? Rome. Via Veneto. Hot summer night few years ago. A romantic stroll through the street well-known from Federico Fellini's film "La Dolce Vita". In my mind I always call this dress "Via Veneto dress" although I did not buy it in Rome but in another Italian city - Milan. In today's pictures-another special place-labyrinth in Barcelona (Parc del Laberint d'Horta) where a scene of the film "Perfume" was shot.

Mi primera asociación con este vestido? Roma. Via Veneto.

Rzym. Via Veneto. Upalny sierpniowy wieczór kilka lat temu. Kolacja i spacer z narzeczonym, a obecnie mężem, śladami filmu "La Dolce Vita".

This dress is one of my favourite summer garments. I have had it for over 9 years and even from time to time I had a sudden urge to give it away but have never done that because of my certain sentimental attachment to it. It has been with me on different stages of my life and accompanied me to various places. Now it is entering this new chapter with me. But as difficult as it is to get rid of some garments it is also hard to leave some important places. It has been less than a month since I have been in London and I have already started missing warm Mediterranean Sea. That is why I am back to Barcelona for a short, one-week holiday.

Serdecznie Was stąd pozdrawiam!

Sunday stroll

In one of my recent posts I mentioned some changes that were going to happen. Even though Barcelona will of course remain our city, my and my husband's carrer plans temporarily will be related with another vibrant and fascinating city-London. That is why today I would like to share with you some things that make me love London.

W jednym z ostatnich postów pisałam o czekających mnie i mojego męża zmianach.

That is why today I would like to share with you some things that make me love London:

1. Parks. Huge green spaces in the center of the city. Ideal for picnics, romantic strolls and cycling. Everybody, from children to retired people, will find there something for themselves.

2. Street fashion. Nowadays London has been one of the fashion capitals. However, what is really inspiring is what you can see  on the streets. London street fashion is edgy, extravagant and urban chic.

3. Museums. Vast collection of world art and design, as well as scientific and technology exhibitions. All of this in interactive and modern form. And without ticket purchase queues as there are no tickets. I was spending hours in my favourite museum-Victoria & Albert, admiring countless works of decorative art and having breaks in the inner garden.

4. Antiques markets. With famous Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill and vivid, alternative and edgy Camden Market on the top of the list. Vintage clothes, interesting jewellery, second-hand books, food from all around the world. You can find everything there. A unique athmosphere for sure.

5. Red. As cliche as it sounds, I just love red buses and telephone boxes. Pops of red go so well with grey and white facades of victorian houses.

1. Parki. Ogromne połacie zieleni w centrum miasta. Miejsce odpoczynku i wytchnienia.

Swoboda, odwaga, ekstrawagancja. Po prostu-miejski luz.

3. Muzea.

Można tam znaleźć prawie wszystko, a szczególnie - unikalną atmosferę.

5. Czerwień. Jakkolwiek banalnie by to nie brzmiało, ale uwielbiam czerwone autobusy, skrzynki pocztowe i budki telefoniczne. Czerwień idealnie kontrastuje z szarością i bielą wiktoriańskich fasad.
